Andrea and Christina’s Story
Andrea and Christina met in middle school and instantly became close friends. Christina graduated with a Master in Teaching from Seattle University and taught in elementary and preschool classrooms for 10 years. During her time teaching, she became very passionate about early childhood education and parent education. Christina currently stays home with her first son.
Andrea studied psychology at Western Washington University and then continued on to get her Master in Education and applied behavior analysis at the University of Washington. She has worked both in school and clinical settings running preschool programs and social groups for children. For the last 7 years, she has worked as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and behavioral consultant for families of young children. She is also a mother of twin girls.
In the spring of 2020, Andrea and Christina started preparing to open a preschool in their neighborhood. They were excited to create an engaging learning space for children while providing parent education and support. However, as the pandemic caused the shutdown of schools and businesses, they knew they needed to shift their plan and focus on how they could support families at home.
As first-time moms and educators, Andrea and Christina found themselves asking each other many questions regarding development and behavior. They were so fortunate to be able to bounce ideas off one another, collaborate and develop plans in order to improve their parenting. They saw how important it is to have support from others with zero judgement while creating a plan helped them navigate the difficult times in parenting.
